This page explains what data FeaturedSnippet (“we”, “us”) collects when you use featuredsnippet.org, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.
FeaturedSnippet is a free SEO toolkit. The data controller is FeaturedSnippet. You can reach us at legal@featuredsnippet.org.
If you accept analytics cookies: we use Google Analytics 4 to record page views, approximate location (IP-based, coarsened by Google), device type, browser, referrer, and interaction events. IP addresses are anonymised by GA4 before storage.
If you reject cookies: Google Analytics is not loaded at all. No analytics scripts are downloaded and no analytics cookies are set.
Server logs: our hosting provider (Railway) keeps standard request logs (IP address, request path, timestamp, user agent) for a short rolling window. These logs are used for debugging and abuse prevention.
AI Snippet Writer inputs: the keyword and page description you submit are sent to Anthropic for generation. We do not store these inputs. Anthropic processes them subject to Anthropic’s privacy policy.
Rate limit cache: we keep your IP in memory for ~60 seconds to prevent abuse of the AI generation endpoint. This data is not persisted to disk and is lost on every redeploy.
What we do not collect: we have no user accounts, no email signup, no payment processing, and no marketing or ad tracking pixels.
Analytics: to understand which tools people use so we know what to improve. Server logs: to diagnose errors and detect abuse. AI inputs: to actually generate the snippet variants you asked for.
Analytics cookies are set only with your explicit consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Server logs and rate-limit caching rely on our legitimate interest in keeping the service running and secure (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Sending your AI Snippet Writer inputs to Anthropic is necessary to perform the service you requested (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited, with processing in the United States and elsewhere). Subject to standard contractual clauses for international data transfers.
Anthropic (Anthropic, PBC, United States) for AI generation requests via their API.
Railway (Railway Corp., United States) for hosting and infrastructure.
Analytics data: per Google’s default retention (currently 14 months). Server logs: a short rolling window managed by Railway. Rate-limit cache: ~60 seconds. AI Snippet Writer inputs: not stored on our side.
If you are in the EU, UK, or another jurisdiction with data protection laws, you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict processing of, object to processing of, and port your personal data. You can also withdraw analytics consent at any time by clearing your browser’s site data for featuredsnippet.org — the consent banner will reappear on your next visit. To exercise any of these rights, email legal@featuredsnippet.org. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
The service is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected in the “Effective” date at the top of this page.
