Effective 7 May 2026
This page explains which cookies and similar local-storage technologies FeaturedSnippet uses, why, and how you can control them.
Cookies are small text files stored in your browser by the websites you visit. We also use the closely related localStorage API for some preferences. We refer to both as “cookies” below for simplicity.
Strictly necessary (always on, no consent required):
fs-consent-v1 — localStorage. Records your choice from the cookie banner. Without it the banner would reappear on every page load.theme — localStorage (set by the next-themes library). Remembers your light/dark mode preference.Analytics (only after you click “Accept”):
_ga — Google Analytics 4. Distinguishes unique visitors. 13 months._ga_<measurement-id> — Google Analytics 4. Persists session state. 13 months. If you click “Reject” (or simply ignore the banner), the Google Analytics script is not loaded at all and no analytics cookies are set.
We do not use advertising cookies, marketing pixels, social-media tracking, fingerprinting, or any cross-site tracker.
To change your analytics consent, clear your browser’s site data for featuredsnippet.org. The cookie banner will reappear on your next visit and you can pick again.
To block cookies entirely, use your browser’s built-in controls. Be aware that strictly-necessary cookies may need to be allowed for the site to function (e.g. remembering your light/dark mode preference).
Most browsers also support “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals; we honour these by treating them as a rejection of analytics cookies.
We may update this policy. The current version is dated at the top of this page.
